About The Position

Under general supervision, provide support for social, economic, or health related research; investigate, gather, assess and clarify data; organize and supervise distribution of information; coordinate general laboratory maintenance and inventory control. A Term position is a staff position that exists for a period longer than six months but is not expected to last beyond one year. Although a position may exist for a specified or indefinite period, staff who accept term positions are not guaranteed employment for the entire period; they are employed for indefinite periods within the limit of the appointment. There are no guarantees of continued employment, either within the term or when the term ends.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, organize, and evaluate data from a variety of reference sources
  • Develop and document reports and analyses summarizing progress, trends, and conclusions
  • Prepare reports for analysis of research data
  • Assist in modification and coordination of research procedures and techniques
  • Recruit and/or interview study participants
  • Develop forms and questionnaires that will collect the appropriate data
  • Create database files and maintain records
  • Assist in the preparation of materials for publication
  • Edit and/or type manuscripts according to accepted practices
  • Create informational materials related to research/study for dissemination to study participants, researchers, community
  • Make presentation of study concepts in group session
  • Keep abreast of trends in field of study
  • Read professional journals and attend meetings and/or seminars
  • Supervise Research Analyst I, technical support staff and student assistants
  • Plan, train, and assign work
  • Coordinate maintenance of lab.
