About The Position

University Medical Partners (UMP), a partner of Stanford Medicine, is seeking a full-time BC/BE Pulmonary and Critical Care physician to join our multidisciplinary team in Pleasanton, CA, and Livermore, CA. This opportunity offers a mix of outpatient Pulmonary Medicine, inpatient ICU/Critical Care Medicine, and inpatient Pulmonary consult service at Stanford Tri-Valley Hospital in Pleasanton, CA. Clinicians will see approximately 14-16 patients per day, and the outpatient clinic includes the reading of PFTs. The role involves 4 weeks of ICU coverage per year, scheduled in 1-week blocks, with 1.5 ICU night shifts and 1-2 ICU swing shifts per month. There are opportunities for collaboration with Stanford University School of Medicine Faculty physicians and teaching roles for Stanford Critical Care Fellows and Family Medicine Residents, potentially leading to an academic appointment. The position serves a diverse patient population.

Requirements

  • BC/BE Pulmonary and Critical Care physician.
  • Full-time commitment (36 patient contact hours per week).
  • CVICU experience required.
  • Ability to work in Pleasanton (primary) and Livermore (secondary) clinic locations.
  • Valid medical license.

Nice To Haves

  • BE/BC in Sleep Medicine.
  • Endobronchial Ultrasound Bronchoscopy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide outpatient Pulmonary Medicine services.
  • Provide inpatient ICU/Critical Care Medicine services.
  • Provide inpatient Pulmonary consult services.
  • Read PFTs in the outpatient clinic.
  • Cover ICU for 4 weeks per year in 1-week blocks.
  • Perform 1.5 ICU night shifts per month.
  • Perform 1-2 ICU swing shifts per month.
  • Collaborate with Stanford University School of Medicine Faculty physicians.
  • Teach Stanford Critical Care Fellows and Family Medicine Residents.
