Kharon is seeking a full-time, in-office Research Analyst, Data Operations with working proficiency in Mandarin (simplified and/or traditional) to join our team in Washington D.C. This role requires in-office attendance. Given the significance of our work and the increasing global reliance on our insights, we are looking for a Director of Growth Marketing to join us as we shape the way businesses perceive and navigate global risks. Reporting to the Associate Director of Data Operations, the core of this position is dedicated to conducting open-source research on a variety of foreign affairs and national security issues. More specifically, you will be researching, analyzing, and interpreting data as it relates to sanctions, export controls, and criminal/illicit networks. You will be responsible for the diligent pursuit of data as it relates to ever-evolving market demand and client inquiries. Working collaboratively with the Kharon Research team, you will contribute to the development of new datasets and update existing ones, identifying and utilizing new sources and developing subject matter expertise on various strategic topics. This includes monitoring new sanctions, enforcement actions, and policy activity by regulatory agencies, as well as conducting research on international affairs that affect business risks. Leveraging your sound analytical approach and research techniques, you will identify data typologies, perform detailed quality assurance, validate and reconcile data, and support new product and partnership initiatives. You’ll also play a key role in curating, publishing, and maintaining datasets, and may write original code to collect primary data across various languages. Cross-functional collaboration is essential as you help build out new research, surface insights from existing content, and report key project metrics to internal stakeholders.
