About The Position

The Research Data Analyst (RDA) will support implementation and evaluation activities for the SPLASH study, a program at Ward 86 designed to expand access to long-acting antiretroviral therapy (LA-ART) for people living with HIV who face barriers to adherence with daily oral therapy. SPLASH evaluates innovative clinical and implementation strategies to deliver long-acting injectable antiretroviral therapy within a safety-net HIV clinic serving a diverse population including people experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and structural barriers to care. It will also examine predictors of failure on long-acting ART, including drug levels and the HIV viral reservoir. The Research Data Analyst (RDA) will play a dual role supporting both data management and some participant-facing study activities for the SPLASH study. The RDA will oversee accurate and timely data collection, entry, and quality assurance within study databases (e.g., REDCap). The RDA will work closely with clinical and research staff to align study procedures with routine clinical care, assist with specimen collection and transport, and ensure proper documentation of study activities. They will also contribute to maintaining regulatory files and ensuring compliance with study protocols and institutional requirements. The RDA, along with a clinical research coordinator, will support identifying, recruiting, screening, and enrolling eligible participants, as well as coordinating baseline and follow-up study visits. The RDA will work closely with investigators and clinician collaborators to ensure high-quality data collection and participant retention throughout the study. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a diverse population of people living with HIV in a busy clinical environment. The RDA will also participate in study meetings, contribute to quality assurance activities, and may assist with data preparation and analyses under supervision of the study investigators. The Research Data Analyst (RDA) will support the Principal Investigator in a broad scope of research-related activities. The Analyst will help plan, coordinate, and assist with the data systems for research studies i.e. cohort definition and management, data management, developing and pilot-testing questionnaires, conducting quality assurance , preparing recruitment reports, and monitoring study retention. Given the focus on remote data collection procedures, the RDA will assist with the development of processes for remote survey administration, processes for obtaining remote informed consent, and proccesses for automating texting to participants to remind them to complete instruments or self-collect research samples. Collaborators are currently using Qualtrics and Redcap to complete these processes and will be available to assist in completing these processes. The RDA will also conduct statistical analysis to prepare tables, charts, and figures for use in publications and presentations. The RDA will oversee data entry, data management and storage, assist in developing program to generate progress and monitor reports and conduct data management and quality assurance and provide technical assistance to research staff related to data entry and processing. The study team is currently using Redcap for data entry and processing and Qualtrics to administer surveys but is open to other approaches as well if better suited for the study’s processes. The RDA will provide technical expertise in conducting simple and complex analyses using statistical software (STATA / R / Python) and create analytical datasets for research studies. Most common statistical problems that the RDA will address includes developing processes for handling missing data, such as using inverse probability weighting or multiple imputation. A related analysis will include analyzing antiretroviral therapy uptake in a large database and examining the impact of policy changes to facilitate antiretroviral therapy uptake using approaches such as difference-in-differences analysis. The incumbent will also develop tables, graphs, and contribute to analyses for reports and publications under the direction of the study PIs; and perform other data management/ department tasks as assigned to meet the overall data and technical needs of the program.

Responsibilities
