About The Position

Shyam will investigate the in-situ observation of Hall effects in two-dimensional van der Waals materials using advanced Lorentz transmission microscopy. This project will focus on simultaneously probing topological spin textures and electronic transport measurements in Fe3GaTe2 devices. The primary goal is to determine whether topological Hall effect is correlated with the presence of skyrmion Hall effects.

Requirements

  • Strong background in Physics and Materials Science.
  • Demonstrated experience in the transfer and handling 2D van der Waals Materials.
  • Proficiency in 2D material device fabrication techniques, including photolithography techniques and DC sputtering deposition.
  • Experience with electronic transport measurement, particular Hall effect characterization.
  • Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies at an accredited institution.
  • Graduated from an accredited institution within the past 3 months; or actively enrolled in a graduate program at an accredited institution.
  • Must be 18 years or older at the time the appointment begins.
  • Must possess a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Candidates may be required to complete pre-employment drug testing based on appointment length.
  • Must complete a satisfactory background check.
  • Must obtain a government access authorization that involves additional background check requirements.
