About The Position

This position is posted for UNMC employees only. A trained microbiologist or engineer with extensive experience in aerosol science, specifically aerobiology, is required to lead and conduct experiments aimed at understanding the behavior of biological aerosols. The specialist designs, performs, and interprets controlled aerobiology experiments, including designing and employing novel technologies. The role also involves collaborative studies, graduate student training, laboratory meetings, funding development, and other operational duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Trained microbiologist or engineer.
• Extensive experience in aerosol science, specifically aerobiology.
• Three years of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct experiments to understand the behavior of biological aerosols.
• Design, perform, and interpret controlled aerobiology experiments.
• Design and employ novel technologies for aerobiology experiments.
• Participate in collaborative studies with other groups.
• Train graduate students and participate in laboratory meetings.
• Collaborate with the PI and others to develop new internal and external funding.
• Conduct other operational duties as assigned.
