About The Position

Paul Logistics is hiring a technical, AI-first Reporting & Data Analyst to build reporting capabilities from the ground up. The role brings together data from multiple systems, structures it into reliable datasets, and produces dashboards and reports used by leadership. Claude is the primary tool for pulling, cleaning, analyzing, and presenting data, as well as automating recurring reports. The analyst owns requests from the initial question through delivery of the finished dashboard and verifies outputs against the general ledger and source data. This is an IT-first role requiring strong SQL and data skills; an FP&A or accounting background is a plus but is not required. The position is based onsite in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Strong SQL experience, including joins, query optimization, and data modeling.
Track record of building reports and dashboards from the ground up.
Expert-level daily use of Claude or similar AI tools and strong prompting skills.
A portfolio of 2–3 reports, dashboards, or automated workflows built by the candidate is required.
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and data modeling.
Extremely detail-oriented, with a habit of checking work against the source.
1–3 years of experience in SQL, database, BI, or data reporting roles.

Nice To Haves

FP&A or accounting background and a solid understanding of the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
Experience in logistics or transportation and familiarity with McLeod.
Power BI experience, including data modeling and DAX.
Experience with Claude Code, Claude skills, or connecting AI to business tools.

Responsibilities

Design and build reporting from scratch, determining what to measure, where data comes from, and how it should be structured.
Write and optimize SQL queries to pull data from multiple systems, primarily McLeod, as well as APIs, flat files, and spreadsheets, and create clean, consistent, reusable datasets.
Build and maintain KPI dashboards and scorecards for leadership, pricing, operations, and finance using interactive dashboards, Power BI, Excel workbooks, and presentation-ready summaries.
Track freight KPIs, including revenue and cost per mile, margin, utilization, and deadhead, by customer, lane, truck, and business unit.
Use Claude daily to analyze data, build reports and dashboards, and verify outputs against the general ledger and source data.
Build reusable Claude workflows and automate recurring reports with scheduled tasks and connected apps such as Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Excel.
Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, and ad hoc analyses for decisions involving equipment purchases, pricing, new locations, and acquisitions.
