CBC Saskatchewan is hiring a reporter-editor for our new bureau in Yorkton. This role involves covering hyper-local stories, aligning with agricultural and manufacturing themes, and contributing to broadcast and digital platforms. A key aspect of the role is ensuring diverse voices from the region are represented in journalism across all platforms. The reporter-editor will also play a role in CBC News' strategy to connect with and amplify Indigenous content, given Yorkton's status as the base for the Yorkton Tribal Council. The position requires operating independently under the direction of the CBC Saskatchewan assignment desk, with support from colleagues in Saskatoon and Regina. Ongoing training opportunities will be provided. Yorkton is highlighted as an ideal location for work-life balance, offering affordable housing, short commutes, and access to year-round activities and a vibrant cultural community.
