About The Position

Altitude Aerospace provides engineering and certification solutions for commercial and VIP aircraft programs worldwide. With FAA DER, EASA DOA, and TCCA DAO approvals, we support our customers from concept development through certification and in-service support. Our team of more than 150 professionals across the United States, Canada, and France works on programs for major aerospace OEMs, industry start-ups, maintenance organizations, and airlines around the globe. As a Structural Repair Design Technician, you will contribute to the technical support of in-service aircraft maintenance and repair programs. You will be responsible for assessing structural damage, analyzing in-service issues, and developing repair solutions that meet airworthiness requirements and customer needs. You will serve as a key interface between maintenance teams, customers, stress analysts, and certification authorities. You will participate in the preparation of repair packages, the development of technical instructions, and the coordination of design activities required to return aircraft safely and efficiently to service. This is a highly technical role where your analytical skills, proficiency with design tools such as CATIA, and strong communication abilities will be essential in developing effective repair solutions, supporting certification activities, and ensuring the continued airworthiness of aircraft structures.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of aircraft technical documentation (AMM, IPC, SRM, NDTM, etc.)
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5 for both 2D drafting and 3D design
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and airworthiness requirements
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Fluency in both French and English, written and spoken

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience or internship in aircraft repair design or a related aerospace engineering field is considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assess structural damage to aircraft and determine appropriate corrective actions
  • Respond to Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations and customer engineering support requests
  • Investigate in-service issues, identify root causes of failures, and develop effective and innovative technical solutions
  • Design and propose repair solutions that comply with regulatory requirements, airworthiness standards, and customer specifications
  • Prepare repair packages, engineering drawings, and work instructions required for repair implementation
  • Work closely with the Stress Engineering team to incorporate recommendations and substantiation resulting from structural analyses
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation and design reports in English for certification and regulatory approval purposes
