Repair and Tool Technicians evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices. They make equipment recommendations and ensure that units are maintained. Technicians work in stores with Tool Rental Centers or in repair centers. In stores, technicians serve Tool Rental customers by writing rental contracts and repair invoices, checking equipment operation, and demonstrating proper use when needed. They also support customer repair needs and handle the day-to-day operation and maintenance of Tool Rental equipment. At non-store locations, technicians repair units, test the quality of repairs, and clean equipment before returning it to the originating store. The role requires thorough knowledge of tools and effective management of tool inventory, including maintenance and repairs.
