Repair and Tool Technicians evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices. They make equipment recommendations and ensure units are maintained. Technicians work either in stores with Tool Rental Centers or in repair centers. In stores, technicians serve Tool Rental customers by writing rental contracts and repair invoices, checking equipment operation, and demonstrating proper use when needed. They also support customer repair needs and handle the day-to-day operation and maintenance of Tool Rental department equipment. At non-store locations, technicians repair units, test repair quality, and clean equipment before returning it to the originating store. They maintain tool inventory by keeping tools in working condition and repairing them as necessary.
