Repair and Tool Technicians evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices. They make equipment recommendations and ensure units are maintained. Technicians work either in stores with Tool Rental Centers or in repair centers. In stores, technicians provide Tool Rental services to customers, including preparing rental contracts and repair invoices, checking that tools operate properly, and demonstrating proper use when needed. They also handle the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department. At non-store locations, technicians repair units, test repair quality, and clean equipment before returning it to the originating store. They need thorough knowledge of tools and manage tool inventory by maintaining and repairing tools as necessary.
