Repair and Tool Technicians evaluate and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical devices. They make equipment recommendations and ensure units are maintained. Technicians work in stores with Tool Rental Centers and in repair centers. At store locations, technicians support Tool Rental customers by writing rental contracts and invoices for equipment rentals and tool repairs, checking that tools operate properly, and demonstrating proper use when needed. They also handle the day-to-day operation and maintenance of equipment in the tool rental department. At non-store locations, technicians repair units, test repair quality, and clean equipment before returning it to the originating store. Technicians are expected to have thorough knowledge of tools and effectively manage tool inventory through maintenance and repair.
