About The Position

The Repack Associate helps create and prepare WeTheHobby branded repack products. The role involves selecting and preparing graded cards and slabs, digitally and manually building custom products, assembling and packaging products, and maintaining accurate inventory and packaging standards. The ideal candidate has strong sports card knowledge across major sports, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while handling high-value collectibles carefully and accurately.

The position is based in Rochester, NY, and offers an exempt rate of $22 per hour, based on location and experience. The general schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Repack Associate reports directly to Carl Palombi, Director of Repack. WeTheHobby participates in E-Verify for newly hired employees.

Requirements

• Experience in sports, trading cards, or collectibles is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communication with customers by phone, text, and email.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask attentively.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Knowledge of third-party grading services.
• Willingness and ability to work non-traditional business hours, including nighttime and weekends.
• Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, hyper-growth environment where priorities evolve regularly and decisions are made quickly.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Regular use of hands and fingers for computer work, including typing and clicking.
• Ability to walk within offices or a warehouse as needed.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, such as product cases, shipping and receiving equipment, and small office equipment.
• Ability to navigate a typical office setting, attend in-person meetings, collaborate across departments, and regularly bend, stoop, reach above the head, or ascend stairs.

Nice To Haves

• Three to five years of sports card experience as a professional, dealer, or collector.

Responsibilities

• Use knowledge of the sports card and memorabilia industry, including player performance, hobby trends, product hierarchy, and collector demand across major sports.
• Digitally and manually build custom repack products while meeting accuracy, consistency, and presentation-quality standards.
• Pull, inspect, clean, and prepare graded cards and slabs for packaging and final assembly.
• Package products using heat seal and shrink wrap equipment while meeting company quality and presentation standards.
• Apply labels, seals, and packaging materials accurately for product tracking and inventory control.
• Maintain inventory records and assist with inventory adjustments, spreadsheet updates, and product tracking.
• Communicate with Repack leadership about inventory needs, product discrepancies, damaged items, and operational concerns.
• Follow department leadership's directions regarding product builds, card selection, packaging priorities, and workflow.
• Maintain attention to detail in product handling, packaging, inventory management, and quality control.
• Support a clean, organized, and safe work environment while handling high-value collectibles and inventory.
• Perform other assigned duties and operational support tasks.
