About The Position

This role is for the Winter 2026/27 season at Mt. Bachelor in Bend, Oregon. The Rental team plays a crucial role in creating an exceptional guest experience by providing friendly, knowledgeable service and ensuring guests are accurately fitted with the correct ski or snowboard equipment. Responsibilities include proper boot fitting, equipment setup, and maintaining high standards of safety and attention to detail. A basic understanding of ski and snowboard equipment, a passion for guest service, and a commitment to getting every setup right the first time are essential. Rental staff are expected to educate guests about mountain services, including Ski & Ride School lessons, and recommend appropriate lifts and terrain based on each guest's ability level to promote a safe and enjoyable experience. This position is primarily indoors but requires occasional outdoor work, including snow removal and moving ski racks. Employees must be prepared to be guest-facing throughout each shift, wear the required uniform and name tag, stand for up to eight hours, and be available to work at any rental location across the resort.

Requirements

  • Must pass certification test with binding manufacturers.
  • Some mechanical problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to push 50 lbs of force at a height of 42”.
  • High School or Equivalent Required.
  • 1 year in customer service, retail, hospitality, or related customer service experience.
  • Ability to shovel snow and walk on steep and uneven surfaces.
  • Minimum Age Requirement: 18+

Responsibilities

  • Create an exceptional guest experience by providing friendly, knowledgeable, and professional service every day.
  • Accurately fit guests with ski and snowboard boots and rental equipment, ensuring every setup is completed safely and correctly the first time.
  • Maintain a basic understanding of ski and snowboard equipment while demonstrating strong attention to detail and a commitment to guest safety.
  • Educate guests about mountain services, including Ski & Ride School lessons, and recommend appropriate lifts and terrain based on ability level.
  • Work primarily indoors with occasional outdoor responsibilities, including snow removal and moving ski racks.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by wearing the required uniform and name tag while remaining guest-facing throughout each shift.
  • Be able to stand for up to eight hours per shift.
  • Be available to work at any rental location across the resort as operational needs require.
  • Assist other stations in the rental shop.
  • Assist in snow removal (shoveling) of Rental shop’s designated areas.
  • Assist in moving ski racks onto the snow in the morning and replacing them at the end of the day.
  • Assist in housekeeping of work areas – clean and vacuum as needed.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
