About The Position

A part-time, entry-level position at Penske’s Rockford, Illinois location. The Rental Representative works with sales, administrative, service, and operations teams in an entrepreneurial environment. The role involves sales, customer account coordination, and managing vehicle availability while maintaining customer satisfaction. The position is generally planned for 10–20 hours per week while the associate is in school and 20–30 hours per week during summer and winter breaks. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to make independent decisions and work well in a team environment.
• Customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude required.
• Proficiency with a computer, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, required.
• Valid driver’s license required, with the ability and willingness to drive Penske vehicles, including a 26-foot box truck.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Must maintain a current driver qualification file as required for the role, including an annual motor vehicle records check, a successfully completed DOT physical, and safety performance history records requests from prior employers in the last three years.
• CDL holders must complete a DOT drug screening within 30 days of starting and are subject to an FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Must be willing to work the required schedule and at the specified location, travel as necessary, complete Penske’s employment application accurately, and submit to a background investigation and drug screening.
• Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and safely; associates are responsible for their own safety and the safety of others.
• Must be able to read, communicate verbally and/or in writing, remember and analyze information, and understand instructions or guidelines.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and sit; frequently use hands to touch, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• At least six months of retail sales and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound sales processes.
