We are seeking an enthusiastic, accountable, and highly motivated Rental Operations Lead to support and drive the performance of our rental department across multiple branches. This role is based full-time in our Martinez location and plays a critical role in rental growth, operational execution, and team coordination. Position Summary The Rental Operations Lead is responsible for the day-to-day execution of rental operations, including customer coordination, rental workflow management, billing support, and internal fleet oversight. This role also serves as a field-facing operational leader, supervising rental technicians, supporting apprentice development, and ensuring the rental fleet is maintained, work-ready, and properly tracked through internal systems. This is a hands-on leadership position with direct impact on rental revenue, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming rental requests, quotes, and customer inquiries.
  • Prepare and follow up on rental proposals, agreements, and work orders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with current and past customers to support rental growth.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Service, and Parts departments to ensure seamless rental execution.
  • Monitor rental activity, including equipment on rent, service intervals, and customer needs.
  • Assist with billing processes, including timely work order closure and accuracy of invoicing.
  • Monitor the rental fleet for service needs and repairs.
  • Open and manage internal work orders for rental fleet equipment, assign work, and track completion.
  • Coordinate parts procurement and repair scheduling with internal teams.
  • Ensure fleet readiness, availability, and proper documentation in ASPEN.
  • Supervise all rental technicians and support their daily coordination and assignments.
  • Provide oversight and support of technician apprentices, including development and training follow-up.
  • Assist with cross-training and development initiatives within the rental and service teams.
  • Promote accountability, organization, and adherence to company processes.
  • Oversee rental operations across all three branches (Martinez, Sacramento, and Reno).
  • Support scheduling, dispatching, and execution of rental deliveries and service.
  • Work closely with Operations leadership to improve processes and identify operational gaps.
  • Maintain consistent communication across departments to ensure alignment.
  • Track rental outreach activity, opportunities, and results.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of rental activity, customer interactions, and work orders.
  • Assist with reporting needs related to rental performance and utilization.
