About The Position

This position oversees the rendering process in the basement throughout the day for the Harvest department. The employee maintains cleaning standards in the basement, coordinates with vendors arriving for trailer pickup, and addresses basement concerns promptly. The role also involves understanding, communicating, and collecting Sustainable Swine Resources (SSR) for the site, and responding to surrounding needs to support other departments.

Requirements

Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities flexibly.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work in a harvest/slaughter environment.
Ability to prioritize safety by following proper lockout/tagout procedures, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, and using fall protection.
Ability to work at heights as needed for trailers.
Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold conditions.
Ability to work alone with little supervision.
Eligible to work in the country where the job is located without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma.
Experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Experience operating a commercial motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

Monitor trailer capacity and switch trailers as needed using a yard tractor.
Maintain clean drains, floors, and the rendering area throughout the day.
Collect recyclables and deliver them to the Recycle Center.
Support chemical inventories and resupply.
Contact the rendering company about schedule changes or the need for an additional trailer.
Maintain certification and competence to operate a forklift and yard tractor throughout the day.
Maintain proper collection of hides and SSR.
Work with Harvest team members to maintain proper trailer changeover processes.
Prepare for the day's rendering-product collection and clean and close down the area for the night.
Complete other duties as assigned.
