We are seeking a motivated, passionate, and hard-working individual to join our team as a Removal Immigration Staff Attorney in Morris Plains, New Jersey.

Requirements

  • A licensed attorney in U.S. and a member of the New Jersey Bar.
  • 1–3 years of experience in removal defense and bond representation.
  • Based in New Jersey with the ability to appear in person for court, client meetings, ICE presentations in NJ, NY and PA.
  • A strong writer, confident litigator, and tireless advocate.
  • Deeply aligned with immigrant rights and social justice.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in high-stakes removal and bond proceedings.
  • Develop creative legal strategies.
  • Appear for court, interviews, and ICE presentations in NJ, NY, and PA.
  • Work closely with a committed team that values collaboration.
  • Represent clients in Master Calendar, Bond, and Individual Hearings, as well as Clear Fear Interviews and BIA appeals.
  • Develop removal defense strategies including Cancellation of Removal, Asylum, and Adjustment of Status.
  • Review immigration court packages and humanitarian visa applications (VAWA, SIJS, U, and T Visas) to ensure they meet firm and USCIS standards.
  • Assist in training paralegals on evidence organization and court preparation.
  • Participate in "Consultation Day" events to evaluate case eligibility and explain legal options.
  • Develop innovative litigation strategies based on in-depth legal research.
  • Collaborate with case managers and legal assistants to build strong cases.
  • Maintain organized, timely, and compliant case records and deadlines.
