We are looking for a Remodeling Carpenter I to join our growing Remodeling team. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, wants to develop professional carpentry skills, and is ready to build a career in residential remodeling. You’ll work alongside experienced carpenters and remodeling professionals while learning YBG’s construction methods, quality standards, and jobsite practices.
Requirements
- Interest in developing a career in residential remodeling and carpentry.
- Basic measuring and math skills.
- Ability and willingness to learn the proper use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of residential construction work, including regularly lifting and carrying materials and equipment up to 75 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Previous construction, carpentry, vocational, or hands-on experience is helpful but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with demolition, jobsite preparation, material handling, cleanup, and protection of finished surfaces.
- Support experienced carpenters with framing, drywall, cabinets, windows and doors, trim, flooring, tile, exterior work, and other remodeling activities.
- Learn to accurately measure, cut, assemble, and install materials.
- Learn to read construction drawings, scopes of work, and work orders.
- Safely use and maintain hand and power tools.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe jobsites.
- Communicate questions, material needs, and jobsite concerns to the Lead Carpenter or Remodeling Supervisor.
- Work cooperatively with YBG employees and trade partners.
- Follow all company safety policies and jobsite procedures.
