About The Position
Petco Veterinary Services offers relief veterinarians shifts at Vetco Vaccination Clinics and Vetco Total Care full-service veterinary hospitals. The New Philadelphia, Ohio role is with Vetco Total Care, where hospitals provide preventive care, diagnostic workups, outpatient surgeries, and dental procedures. Hospitals have digital dental X-rays, Butterfly IQ+ Vet ultrasound imaging, and fully equipped surgery suites. Licensed and trained hospital staff support care delivery, and there are no overnight or emergency on-call shifts. Relief veterinarians can use flexible online scheduling to select shifts, with no minimum or maximum shift requirement. Weekday and weekend hours are available. Veterinarians set their own rate for each shift, may continue practice activities outside Petco shifts, and pay no agency fees. An appointment-based model helps manage patient flow, and trained staff handle hospital operations so veterinarians can focus on patient care. Petco provides a monthly newsletter with clinic news, policy updates, and product announcements. Veterinarians also receive a 15% discount on Petco products and services. Ohio state bid rates average $106–$133 per hour. Shift rates may vary by clinic location and shift duration.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine state license in good standing.
- Appropriate state-specific licensing to perform all shift functions, including blood draws and vaccine administration.
- DEA registration in good standing for full-service Vetco Total Care hospital relief shifts.
- Professional liability insurance and a license defense policy.
- Compliance with all local, state, and federal mandates.
