About The Position

The Relief Pharmacist practices pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care and education. The role is patient-directed and clinically oriented, with a focus on advancing patient care at Meijer Pharmacy. The pharmacist fills prescriptions safely and accurately, supports positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership, and helps pharmacy technicians perform effectively through accountability, education, and mentorship. The position may be responsible for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge and performs or oversees clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist certification, except in Indiana.
Retail/community pharmacy practice experience.
Working knowledge of the pharmacy system and policies and procedures.
Understanding of regulations in the state where the pharmacy operates.
Effective communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results appropriately and effectively.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to help them be effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform at their highest level.
Apply knowledge of Meijer policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws.
Communicate effectively and act as an agent of change.
Organize and prioritize workload effectively.
Listen to patients, provide customer service, and resolve patient needs.
Assume responsibility for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
Help expand and grow the pharmacy business.
