About The Position

The Relief Pharmacist practices pharmacy in an environment focused on patient care and education. The role is patient-directed and clinically oriented, with a focus on advancing patient care at Meijer Pharmacy. The pharmacist safely and accurately fills prescriptions, provides and oversees clinical services where permitted, including immunizations, and supports pharmacy operations. In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, this position is responsible for pharmacy operations. The role also involves maintaining positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership; mentoring and motivating pharmacy technicians; and helping grow the pharmacy business. Other duties may be assigned or required.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist, except in Indiana.
Retail or community pharmacy practice experience.
Working knowledge of the pharmacy system and policies and procedures.
Understanding of regulations in the state where the unit operates.
Effective communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
Competence and knowledge of Meijer policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
Listen to patients and resolve their needs through customer service.
Perform and oversee clinical services, including immunizations, where allowed.
Be responsible for pharmacy operations in the absence of the pharmacist in charge.
Prioritize workload and communicate effectively as an agent of change.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
