About The Position

The Relief Kitchen Helper supports residents’ dining experience by preparing, stocking, and maintaining the salad bar; providing friendly service in the dining room; and keeping tables clean. The role also helps maintain a safe community by washing and sanitizing tableware, cookware, and equipment. Scheduled hours are Friday and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Sunday and Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to work Friday and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Sunday and Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand basic English.
• Able to obtain food handler permits required by local ordinances within the first two weeks of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate the dish machine by loading, running, and unloading it, report mechanical issues, and monitor and log water temperatures to ensure proper sanitization.
• Wash, store, and handle tableware and kitchenware carefully; maintain a clean, organized dish room and ensure clean items are available for the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean food preparation and production areas as needed.
• Support dining room service by bussing tables, filling water carafes, preparing tables before meals, and delivering room-service orders.
• Safely use ovens, steamers, grills, sharp utensils, small appliances, and other kitchen tools to support daily food preparation.
• Respond politely to food comments or complaints and promptly report concerns to leadership.
• Perform support work and additional tasks, including trash removal.
• Prepare, stock, and maintain a fresh and appealing salad bar.
