About The Position
The Relief Counselor supports individuals facing mental health challenges and helps them live independently and beyond perceived limitations. The role provides direct support, ensures daily living needs are met, and maintains a safe and inspiring atmosphere. Relief Counselors assist with individualized, person-centered support plans, connect individuals with community resources and transportation as needed, and facilitate activities that promote skill development, community engagement, personal growth, and meaningful relationships. The position also requires completing necessary documentation. The organization may offer an additional hourly differential based on skills, location, training, and populations served in certain programs; applicants should ask the recruiter whether this position qualifies.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Reliability, willingness to learn, and openness to new opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to individuals facing mental health challenges.
- Ensure daily living needs are met while maintaining a safe and inspiring atmosphere.
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized, person-centered support plans.
- Assist individuals in accessing community resources and provide transportation as needed.
- Implement activities that promote skill development, community engagement, personal growth, and meaningful relationships.
- Review and complete all required documentation.
