About The Position

The Reliability Tech C position is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the capacity of equipment assets in assigned areas of responsibility to achieve optimal efficiencies at the lowest reasonable cost. This role involves executing assigned tasks with a focus on safe work practices, high-quality precision work, and customer service to support the company's commitment to "Great Products & Service". The position also requires adherence to standards, continuous learning in maintenance practices and equipment performance, and providing feedback on job assignment needs and improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Safety practices knowledge (LOTO, Confined Space, PPE, PIT, Fall Protection, Hoisting & Rigging, Hot Work).
  • Calculator and Computer application skills for work order documentation and parts requisitioning.
  • Understanding of measurement units, techniques, and application of appropriate tools.
  • Math skills including Arithmetic and application of formulas (e.g., area, volume).
  • Ability to convert measurement units.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics and make simple sketches.
  • Identification and proper use of tools, including selection of the right tool for the job.
  • Knowledge of proper storage and handling techniques for lubricants.
  • Understanding of power transmission component types, terms, operation, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of plumbing/piping conveyance system types, terms, operation, and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of precision alignment techniques for indirect coupled elements, including laser alignment.
  • Basic troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of common cause failure modes and correction of mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain manufacturing process and support equipment to highest, reasonable performance levels, including mechanical systems such as power transmission components (bearings, pulleys/sheaves, shafts/rollers, couplings, sprockets, chains, belts, motors, and gearboxes), conveyance systems (product/process related, and utility-tied like pumps, piping for steam, water, air, electricity), and mechanical control systems (including hydraulic & pneumatic elements).
  • Troubleshoot and execute repairs of equipment causing or contributing to safety, quality, downtime/productivity issues.
  • Communicate findings, identifying potential causes and correction steps to operations and maintenance leadership.
  • Execute proactive maintenance plans on assigned equipment, including Preventive Maintenance (PM) for inspection, measurement, and component replacement/lubrication; Predictive Maintenance (PdM) for data collection with PdM tools; and Condition Maintenance (CM) for repairs based on PM & PdM findings.
  • Execute assigned or scheduled work orders in support of projects and process improvement (PI) efforts.
  • Assist Reliability Tech B’s, A’s, and Leads in installation and removal of general mechanical systems.
