About The Position

This position is a Hybrid Co-Op role within the Reliability Engineering team, running from January to June. The co-op is designed for students to take time off from coursework to fully engage in a working mentorship opportunity. The role involves supporting Air Transport, Business, Regional, and Military aircraft products and programs. The co-op will provide hands-on experience in various reliability engineering tasks, including assessments, predictions, analysis, and testing. The position is located at our Aguadilla, PR facility and requires the candidate to reside in Puerto Rico at the time of employment. Relocation is not offered. RTX is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
  • Experience in reliability engineering.
  • Experience navigating competing priorities, achieving the highest level of engagement, and delivering successful outcomes in critical situations.
  • Knowledge/Experience in Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support Air Transport, Business, Regional and Military aircraft products and programs.
  • Complete Reliability Assessments, which includes performing reliability predictions to establish MTBF estimates and component failure rates.
  • Execute Derating analysis, Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEAs), High Intensity Radiation Fields (HIRF) and Lightning analysis, Testability analysis and Maintainability Assessments.
  • Make Accelerated Stress Testing (AST) and develop Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) profiles.
  • Oversee and conduct testing, conduct failure review board meetings, and define corrective actions.
  • Realize Neutron Single Event Upset susceptibility analysis.
