About The Position

This role is designed as a hybrid Reliability Engineer + Process/Metallurgical Support position, leveraging strong fixed/rotating equipment reliability expertise alongside hands-on mineral sands processing experience. The incumbent will drive asset reliability, uptime, and maintenance effectiveness, and provide day-to-day operational and metallurgical support to stabilize and optimize plant performance. This role also acts as a bridge between maintenance, engineering, and operations.

Requirements

Strong fixed/rotating equipment reliability expertise
Hands-on mineral sands processing experience
Experience with inspection programs (API standards, piping, tanks, pressure systems)
Experience with defect elimination and root cause analysis (RCA)
Experience optimizing maintenance workflows in systems such as Maximo / SAP
Experience supporting preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Experience planning and executing outages and shutdowns
Experience coordinating contractors and internal teams for major repairs
Experience improving planning quality, scheduling discipline, and execution efficiency
Experience ensuring effective scope definition and readiness for shutdown work
Experience providing hands-on support to plant operations
Experience analyzing plant data and trends to identify improvement opportunities
Experience supporting recovery optimization (zircon/ilmenite)
Experience supporting throughput bottlenecks
Experience supporting pumping and slurry system performance
Experience conducting test work and trials to improve process stability and efficiency
Experience working closely with operators to adjust process parameters in real time
Experience acting as a first responder to plant performance issues
Experience diagnosing equipment vs. process-related problems
Experience supporting daily production meetings with insights and actions
Experience providing coaching to operators on process/equipment interactions
Experience supporting implementation of Management Operating System (MOS)
Experience identifying and delivering high-value CI initiatives
Experience tracking improvements linked to throughput, recovery, and equipment availability
Experience standardizing best practices and SOPs
Experience leading or supporting MoC processes for plant and equipment changes
Experience participating in risk assessments for deficient equipment
Experience ensuring safe and compliant implementation of modifications
Knowledge of company occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures and relevant regulations
Ability to actively promote safety awareness and environmental responsibility amongst Atlantic Strategic Minerals and contract personnel
Ability to report all personal injuries and incidents and assist with investigations
Ability to actively support and participate in safety and environmental initiatives.
