About The Position

Customers Bank is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Relationship Manager at a Vice President or Senior Vice President level to join their Venture Banking team on the West Coast (San Francisco or San Diego area), dedicated exclusively to the Life Science and Healthcare sector. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on originating and deepening relationships with venture-backed companies across therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices, digital health, and healthcare services. The Relationship Manager will serve as a trusted financial partner to founders, management teams, and venture capital investors — bringing deep sector expertise, a robust professional network, and a consultative approach to client development.

Requirements

  • VP level requires a minimum of at least 5-7 years venture banking or related experience.
  • SVP level requires a minimum of 8-10 years venture banking or related experience.
  • Ability to work with the Microsoft Suite and learn/work with other Customers Bank’s applications.
  • Familiar with AI & Automation tools.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Originate and grow new client relationships, proactively source and close banking relationships with venture-backed life science and healthcare companies through a disciplined pipeline strategy and sponsor network.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to portfolio clients, acting as the primary relationship point of contact, delivering tailored financial solutions and partnering across treasury products to meet evolving client needs.
  • Drive ecosystem engagement and deal sourcing.
  • Build presence with VC and PE sponsors, incubators, and industry associations to generate referrals and represent the firm at key sector conferences and events.
  • Structure and support credit opportunities, collaborate with credit officers to structure and present venture lending solutions, monitor portfolio health, and proactively manage covenant compliance and risk.
  • Provide sector expertise and thought leadership. Staying current on life science and healthcare funding trends, share market intelligence with clients and internal teams, and help develop junior talent.
