About The Position

The Relationship Manager is responsible for understanding and complying with regulatory requirements for financial transactions, most specifically Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) as it relates to specific job functions. This role exhibits superior customer service as an Austin Bank team member and demonstrates high-quality relationship-building techniques to ensure the customer receives the best possible solution to their banking and financial needs, promoting a loyal relationship between the customer and Austin Bank. The position involves developing a teamwork atmosphere, staying abreast of company communications, and enhancing personal skills through ongoing training. Upholding the organization's values, particularly ethics, integrity, and confidentiality, is crucial. The role includes greeting customers, providing superior customer service, interviewing applicants for loan applications, pulling credit files and reports, analyzing applicant financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine loan feasibility, and ensuring loan agreements are complete and accurate. It also involves corresponding with applicants or creditors, approving loans within specified limits or referring to a loan committee, conferring with underwriters, calling on potential or existing customers to develop new business or retain existing business, networking with title companies and real estate offices, working past due accounts, analyzing potential loan markets, assisting senior loan officers on larger loans, providing routine platform services, answering telephone calls, notarizing documents, performing property inspections and collateral assessments, performing file maintenance, inputting loan information and completing entries, inputting UCC filings, preparing monthly reports, reviewing loans booked on the system for accuracy, preparing correspondence, and maintaining VSI insurance and ticklers. The Relationship Manager must also maintain established department and Bank policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance, and enhance professional growth and development through various means. Professionalism, courtesy, and tact are expected when working with Bank personnel, and regular and prompt attendance is required, along with maintaining confidentiality at all times.

  • Correspond with or interview applicant or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
  • Approve loan within specified limits or refer to loan committee for approval and/or prepare and send out denials.
  • Confer with underwriter regarding lending applications.
  • Call on potential or existing customers to develop new business or retain existing business.
  • Network with title companies and real estate offices.
  • Work past due accounts in attempt to collect funds.
  • Analyze potential loan markets to develop prospects for loans.
  • Participate with and assist senior loan officers on larger loans.
  • Provide customers with routine platform services, such as approving checks for cashing or handling customer problems.
  • Answer telephone calls, taking messages, forwarding calls or providing assistance to customers.
  • Notarize documents.
  • Perform property inspections and collateral assessment.
  • Perform file maintenance.
  • Input loan information on the system and complete entries.
  • Input UCC filings.
  • Prepare monthly reports.
  • Review for accuracy loans already booked on the system.
