The Relationship Builder-Teller's primary responsibility is to deliver outstanding service by accurately processing financial transactions, managing cash, balancing accounts, and adhering to Credit Union policies. The role also involves actively promoting Mazuma's products and services to meet Members' financial needs, while maintaining a professional, organized, and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • Cash handling experience (e.g., cashier, retail sales).
  • Customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Displays outstanding communication abilities and builds positive relationships with Members and Team Members.
  • Maintains a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail while processing financial transactions.
  • Works effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Handles multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing responsibilities to ensure timely completion of assignments.
  • Utilizes strong problem-solving skills and professionalism to address Member inquiries and resolve concerns.
  • Is physically capable of standing for extended periods, up to eight hours as needed.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Must be capable of standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching for periods of up to 8 hours or more.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day.
  • Must be capable of climbing and descending stairs in emergency situations.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer, tablet, telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance, including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional service by greeting Members warmly, addressing their needs, and resolving any issues promptly and professionally.
  • Strive to create a positive experience for every Member.
  • Accurately and efficiently process Member transactions, which include deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, savings bonds, check cashing, and money orders.
  • Ensure all transactions are completed in compliance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate cash drawer balancing throughout the workday and promptly reconcile any discrepancies to uphold financial integrity.
  • Adhere to established procedures for cash controls to ensure the security of both Member funds and Credit Union assets.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all transactions and Member interactions.
  • Promptly resolving Member concerns in a professional manner is a key aspect of the role.
  • Complex issues should be escalated to leadership as needed to ensure timely and effective solutions.
  • Evaluates opportunities to introduce Mazuma’s products, services, and marketing promotions that align with Members’ needs, providing solutions customized to their individual circumstances.
  • When suitable, Members are referred to specialists in the branch, business, mortgage, and wealth management.
  • Remain fully compliant with all applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), as well as all Credit Union policies, procedures, and security measures.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all Member information in accordance with Credit Union standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Members are required to consistently maintain a professional and orderly work environment, including presenting an appearance that aligns with Credit Union standards.
  • Actively fostering a positive team dynamic enhances branch performance and ensures Member satisfaction.
  • Provide assistance to other branch teams and perform operational responsibilities as required, including support for opening and closing procedures and management of vault transactions, to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Develop and maintain constructive relationships with Members and other Team Members to cultivate an inclusive and supportive workplace atmosphere.
