About The Position

The Relationship Banker I provides an exceptional customer experience on the cash line and by phone while helping improve customers’ financial wellness. The role involves building personal connections during transactions, identifying ways Regions can meet customer needs, and resolving customer service inquiries. It is suited to candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who want to begin a career with opportunities for growth and development. The successful candidate is ambitious and adaptable, communicates effectively, and educates customers about ways to bank when, where, and how they choose. The position is based at the Colonial Heights location in Kingsport, Tennessee. It is full time, incentive eligible, and eligible for overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act for hours worked in excess of 40 per week. The listed target job range has a minimum of $35,640.99 and a median of $42,192.00; actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location, and performance.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to work Saturdays as needed.
Ability to handle cash and process cash transactions.
Ability to communicate in person, by phone, and through electronic channels.
Ability to use a computer frequently, including typing and sustained attention to a monitor.
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Ability to assist customers with digital banking offerings.
Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to oversee large sums of cash.
Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

Provide an optimal customer experience on the cash line while processing deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other typical teller transactions.
Answer customer questions about products and services and fulfill basic service requests, including card requests, information changes, PIN resets, check reorders, and basic problem resolution.
Develop customer relationships and stay informed about customers’ relationships with the bank.
Educate customers about standard consumer products and digital banking options, including mobile, online, and ATM offerings.
Assist branch and team members with basic tasks that support customer problem resolution.
Refer customers to internal experts when more complex financial goals or needs are identified.
Follow bank processes and procedures and applicable laws and regulations, including duties assigned by the Branch Manager; help ensure sound banking practices by managing, identifying, and reporting operational risks.
Contribute to branch targets and goals by identifying customer needs and providing appropriate guidance about Regions’ solutions.
May make outbound calls using generated customer and prospect lead lists to explain emerging technology and help address financial needs.
