About The Position

At Regions, the Relationship Banker I provides an exceptional customer experience on the cash line and by phone while helping improve customers’ financial wellness. The role builds personal connections while processing transactions, identifies ways to meet customer needs, and assists with end-to-end customer service inquiries. It is suited to candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who are interested in career growth and development. The successful candidate is ambitious and adaptable, communicates effectively, and educates customers about ways to bank when, where, and how they choose. The position is incentive eligible, and hours worked beyond 40 per week are tracked and eligible for overtime under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Ability to work Saturdays as needed.
Ability to handle cash and process cash transactions.
Ability to communicate in person, by phone, and through electronic channels.
Ability to use a computer frequently, including typing and maintaining sustained attention to a monitor.
Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Ability to assist customers with digital banking offerings.
Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to oversee large sums of cash.
Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills.

Nice To Haves

One year of banking, cash-handling, and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual ability in English and Spanish or English and Portuguese.

Responsibilities

Provide a consistent, optimal customer experience on the cash line while processing deposits, withdrawals, payments, and other typical teller transactions.
Answer customer inquiries about products and services and fulfill basic servicing requests, including new or replacement cards, information changes, PIN resets, check reorders, and basic problem resolution.
Develop customer relationships and remain informed about customers’ relationships with the bank.
Educate customers about standard consumer products and digital banking solutions, including mobile, online, and ATM offerings.
Assist branch and fellow team members with basic tasks that support customer problem resolution.
Refer customers to internal experts when more complex financial goals and needs are recognized.
Follow bank processes and procedures and applicable laws and regulations, complete duties delegated and assigned by the Branch Manager, and help ensure sound banking practices by managing, identifying, and reporting operational risks.
Help achieve branch targets and goals by identifying customer needs and providing appropriate guidance about Regions’ solutions.
May make outbound calls using generated customer and prospect lead lists to educate customers about emerging technology and help meet their financial needs.
