About The Position

The Reimbursement and Health Policy Director for CRM/CAS reports to the Vice President, HEPR, CRM/CAS. The role is accountable for developing and implementing global strategies to secure reimbursement through coding, coverage, and payment levels, and for shaping and translating overall health policy impacting Medtronic’s CRM/CAS portfolio. This position leads the US reimbursement and health policy strategy to grow patient access and provider adoption. The Director also translates business strategies to international regional and in-country reimbursement teams, helping them prioritize and implement geography-specific projects that meet payer and provider stakeholder requirements. This role will require 25% of travel to enhance collaboration and ensure successful completion of projects. The preferred location for this role is Mounds View, MN, a remote assignment will be considered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in health policy, health services research, economics, biostatistics, epidemiology, public administration, clinical research or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant reimbursement and health policy development experience, Or advanced degree and 8 years of relevant reimbursement and health policy development experience
  • Minimum 7 years of people management experience
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
  • The employee is also required to interact with a computer, and communicate with peers and co-workers.
  • U.S. work authorization sponsorship (H-1B, TN, J, etc.) is offered exclusively for Principal-level roles and above, where specialized expertise aligns with long-term business needs. Roles below the Principal level require candidates to possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a high-performing Reimbursement and Health Policy team setting clear priorities aligned to the business and customer needs
  • Represent HEPR on CRM/CAS at product development committees to guide policy and reimbursement planning for launch readiness and success, and ensuring evidence development needs (clinical and economic) are addressed early in the product development process.
  • Translate R&T/D plans and business development strategies into multi-year reimbursement/policy roadmaps by therapy/innovation area
  • Ensure clinical and economic evidence strategies align with payer and HTA requirements for key markets globally
  • Cross-functional collaboration with Clinical Research and Medical Science, Regulatory, Marketing, R&D, Business Development & Strategy, Sales, Finance, and Government Affairs (among others) to ensure Reimbursement and Health Policy topics and interests are addressed comprehensively throughout the business.
  • Partners with regional and country teams to adapt and execute global reimbursement strategies in priority markets
  • Primary spokesman for CRM/CAS reimbursement and health policy issues with external partners including professional societies, industry associations and CMS.
  • Engage with HTA bodies, KOLs, and key stakeholders to shape satisfactory coverage and payment environments.
  • Partners with US sales leadership and Regional Economic Managers to educate hospital and physician customers on reimbursement and relevant health policy.
