About The Position

UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health and UW Health, is hiring a PRN Rehabilitation Technician to support patient care and therapy. The role follows care tasks determined by an OTR/RPT, transports patients safely, communicates with the rehabilitation team, and observes patient responses to treatment. The technician also lifts and carries equipment, supplies, and materials weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, using proper body mechanics, and performs other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification, as required.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to transport patients and use safe lifting techniques for loads up to 50 pounds.
• Observation and basic documentation skills.
• Reliability, teamwork, and time management.

Nice To Haves

• Six to twelve months of relevant experience in a rehabilitation setting is strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Follow patient care tasks determined by the OTR/RPT to help patients achieve therapy goals.
• Safely transport patients to and from therapy and other activities.
• Communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with members of the rehabilitation team.
• Observe and recognize patient reactions to treatment and follow instructions accurately.
• Regularly lift and carry equipment, supplies, and materials up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
