About The Position

UW Health Rehabilitation Hospital, jointly operated with Lifepoint Health and UW Health, is seeking a PRN Rehabilitation Technician to support patient care and therapy. The technician follows patient care tasks determined by the OTR/RPT, helps patients work toward therapy goals, and safely transports patients to and from therapy and other activities. The role also involves communicating with the rehabilitation team, observing patient reactions to treatment, following instructions, and handling equipment and supplies. Relevant rehabilitation experience is recommended; on-the-job training is available after orientation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to transport patients and use safe lifting techniques, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Observation and basic documentation skills.
• Reliability, teamwork, and time-management skills.
• CPR certification, as required.

Nice To Haves

• Six to twelve months of relevant experience in a rehabilitation setting is strongly recommended.

Responsibilities

• Follow patient care tasks determined by the OTR/RPT to help patients achieve therapy goals.
• Safely transport patients to and from therapy and other activities.
• Communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, with members of the rehabilitation team.
• Observe and recognize patient reactions to treatment and follow instructions accurately.
• Lift and carry equipment, supplies, and materials up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, using proper body mechanics.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
