About The Position

Under the direct supervision of licensed clinical staff, the Rehabilitation Aide assists therapists with routine therapeutic treatment tasks for patients. The aide also assists the department supervisor or manager with coordinating the department’s overall functions and maintenance. This is a part-time, day-shift position at South Shore Health’s outpatient rehabilitation department in Weymouth, Massachusetts, scheduled Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The compensation range is $18.20–$26.00.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, including courses offered through South Shore Health.
• Previous coursework, work participation, or volunteer experience in health, fitness, or athletics.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of healthcare-related experience preferred.
• Previous rehabilitation experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical duties supporting daily department operations, including scheduling, answering phones, calling patients, inventory, photocopying, filing, Medicare and CPM tracking, data collection, mail, and faxes.
• Help maintain the department’s physical environment and infection control, including cleaning equipment, temperature monitoring, pool chemistry, linen supply, and area inspections.
• Provide treatment to assigned patients as appropriate under the direct supervision of clinical staff.
• Complete documentation of services according to department standards.
• Enter daily charges accurately and promptly according to department standards.
• Embrace technological solutions to work processes and practices.
• Participate in continued learning and learn and use new technology and procedures relevant to the role and organization.
• Use technological advances to communicate information effectively and efficiently, as appropriate to the role.
