About The Position

The Rehabilitation Aide performs daily maintenance routines for various rehabilitation departments, including disinfecting equipment, loading and unloading dishwashers, storing and refilling disinfectant, and setting up and cleaning therapy rooms. They also perform daily sanitation of PT/OT Gym areas, notify personnel about equipment malfunctions, maintain general clinic tidiness, and ensure the splint area is organized. Additionally, they refill water levels, accept and put away supplies, order food for therapy services, and perform clerical duties as backup or assigned. The role also involves performing basic modality/exercise treatments (e.g., hot/cold packs, Hydra) under direct supervision, preparing patients for treatment, transporting patients, and performing basic patient transfer techniques.

Requirements

  • High School Education
  • 1 year of experience as a Rehab Aide or Rehab Technician
  • Good communication skills.
  • Competency in all Rehab Aide I duties.

Responsibilities

  • Performance of daily maintenance routines for various rehabilitation departments: Disinfects equipment. Loads and unloads dishwasher as applicable. Stores and maintains and refills disinfectant according to hospital specifications. Sets up and cleans up therapy rooms for specific procedures as requested. Performs daily sanitation of PT/OT Gym areas, i.e., mat tables, tables, and therapeutic equipment. Notifies appropriate personnel regarding equipment malfunctioning, hydra equipment. Maintains general clinic tidiness. Maintains splint area ensuring that supplies are properly stored and countertops are clear. Refills water levels. Accepts, verifies, and puts away supplies when delivered. Orders food for therapy services. Performs other clerical duties as back up or as assigned.
  • Performance of basic modality/exercise treatments. Delivers basic modality treatments after having been instructed and credentialed in safety techniques and precautions under the direct supervision of a therapist to include hot/cold packs, Hydra, but not to include Electrical Stimulation or advanced therapeutic techniques.
  • Preparation of patient for treatment to facilitate patient care
  • Performance of patient transportation and routine errands between various rehabilitation settings
  • Performance of basic patient transfer techniques to facilitate patient care.
