Requirements

  • Possess appropriate education, experience, and training to assure competency as delineated in the “Age Specific Competence Assessment”.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent including education equivalent to completion of secondary school or demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the role
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Previous experience in patient care

Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative and receptionist functions including screening calls and visitors, messages, scheduling appointments, registering patients, and collecting appropriate personal and financial data.
  • Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment.
  • Transports patient to/from rehabilitation department.
  • Performs minor dressing changes under the direction of a physical therapists and/or physical therapy assistant.
  • Communicates pertinent clinical information to the licensed therapist (PT, OT, ST or therapist assistant) responsible for the patient.
  • Assists director, clinical coordinator, and his/her designates in activities and initiatives that will enable department and hospital to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Participates in the hospitals and department’s CQI activities; assists in developing and maintaining compliance with standards established by accrediting agencies.
  • Responsible for the safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher, dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services.
  • Provides material supply services for a variety of departments as required.
