About The Position

The Rehabilitation Aide provides support to the clinical team to optimize the quality and efficiency of patient care. The role assists therapists with patient care, prepares and maintains treatment areas, supports patient transfers and positioning, communicates patient needs and status, and performs assigned clerical duties. This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The position is located at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina, in the Speech Therapy department and works the day shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No previous experience required.
• BLS certification.
• Basic computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using office equipment such as fax machines, scanners, and copiers.

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists with patient care, including transporting patients, helping with personal care needs, monitoring patient condition, and reporting status to the appropriate individual.
• Prepare the rehabilitation environment for patient care by cleaning and organizing treatment areas and stocking necessary supplies.
• Assist therapists with patient transfers, bed positioning, and exercise prescription using safe body mechanics and proper technique as instructed.
• Collaborate as a team member, offer assistance to others, and communicate effectively about patient needs or status.
• Perform clerical duties as assigned.
• Attend department, team, and organization meetings as assigned.
