About The Position

The Regulatory Specialist improves patient safety and quality. Is actively involved in performing patient care audits and tracers to ensure that the organization is in a constant state of regulatory readiness for any accrediting and/or licensing agency; processes documentation practices, provides just-in-time training with staff and physicians, and serves as a resource to maximize performance and compliance with hospital policy and best practices; serves as the unit-based subject matter expert for regulatory regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required (in progress acceptable with quarterly progress reports).
  • Minimum two years of experience as a Clinical Nurse in a acute care facility required.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and demonstrated ability to interpret standards with respect to hospital operations.
  • Knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations required.
  • Experience which has provided opportunity to demonstrate competencies in education or training required.
  • Able to read; write legibly.
  • Demonstrate excellent computer proficiency in Quantros, Microsoft Office products, Regulatory websites.
  • Speak in English with professional quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as evidenced by written memorandums and oral presentations.
  • Demonstrate teaching skills with the ability to articulate complex regulatory information in understandable terms to staff at all levels within the organization.
  • Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Provide leadership.
