About The Position

The University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor for the Winter 2027 semester to teach SRS5110-A00: Sacred Plant Medicines and Spirituality. This interdisciplinary course will explore sacred plants like ayahuasca and peyote from historical and socio-cultural perspectives, covering shamanism, ritual, and religion. The course aims to balance academic and practitioner knowledge. Requirements

Ph.D. required in a related field.
Experience of successfully teaching university-level courses that include content on entheogens, sacred plants and spirituality.
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
