About The Position

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Introduction to Telecommunication Systems (ELG3575, Section A) during the Fall 2026 semester. This course covers topics such as transmission lines, impedance matching using the Smith Chart, Maxwell's and wave equations, electromagnetic waves, waveguides, and an introduction to antennas, with applications in communications and radar systems. The course will be delivered in person, and the instructor is expected to attend tutorials for at least one hour per week. This contract includes 52 hours of payment, an increase from the usual 39 hours.

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of the course content, demonstrated by teaching similar courses or relevant employment experience.
  • Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer.
  • Regular applicants must have obtained a doctorate, preferably in a relevant field or with relevant work experience after obtaining their doctorate.
  • Include professional license number and province of issuance in the application.
  • Must successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.

Nice To Haves

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
