About The Position

The University of Ottawa's Faculty of Arts, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Elementary German I (ALG1901 Section D) during the 2026 Fall Semester. This course focuses on basic German skills including conversation, reading, writing, grammar, and intercultural communication. It is the first part of a sequence designed to prepare students for the Goethe Institute's Certificate of German exam. The course will be offered in person on Mondays and Wednesdays from 17:30 to 19:00. The expected enrollment is 35 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. Requirements

  • Master's degree in German or equivalent
  • Recent experience in the teaching of Introductory German with computer assisted Language Learning (CALL) or equivalent
  • Familiarity with the most recent teaching methodologies in teaching German
  • Bilingual (French and English)
