About The Position
The Faculty of Arts, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Elementary German I (ALG1901A) for the Fall 2026 academic period. This course focuses on basic German skills including conversation, reading, writing, grammar, and cross-cultural communication. It is the first part of a sequence preparing students for the Goethe Institute's Certificate of German. The course will be delivered in person on Mondays and Wednesdays from 17:30 to 19:00. Requirements
- Master's degree in German or equivalent.
- Recent experience in the teaching of Introductory German with computer-assisted language learning (CALL) or equivalent.
- Familiarity with the most recent teaching methodologies in teaching German.
- Bilingual (French and English).
Responsibilities
- Teach basic skills in German, including listening comprehension, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, and cross-cultural awareness.
- Prepare students for the Goethe Institute's exam towards the Certificate of German.
- Deliver the course in person on Mondays and Wednesdays from 17:30 to 19:00.
