About The Position

The University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor for the course SOC4314 A00: Gender Relations, Development and Globalization during the 2027 Winter Semester. This course will analyze the effects of development policies and globalization on gender relations, with a focus on theoretical and practical issues, distribution of wealth and means of production, transformation of gender roles within the family due to migration, and responses to the global diffusion of values. The instructor will be responsible for teaching the course, which is expected to have an enrolment of 36 students. The language of instruction is English.

Requirements

  • PhD in sociology.
  • Track record demonstrating expertise in Gender Relations, Development and Globalization studies.
  • Previous teaching experience in the same or similar course at the graduate level or through publications in the field.
