About The Position

The Department of English within the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach ENG1131, Effective Business English, during the Winter 2027 semester. This course focuses on the development of written communication skills, including a review of grammatical usage and composition principles, and an analysis of effective business prose. The course is scheduled to be delivered online with a DGD (Discussion Group).

Requirements

• Ph.D. in English.
• An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
• Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.

Nice To Haves

• Research expertise and publications in this area strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach ENG1131, Effective Business English, during the Winter 2027 semester.
• Develop and deliver course content focusing on written communication skills, grammar, composition, and analysis of business prose.
