About The Position

The Faculty of Arts, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach World and Transcultural Literatures (LCM3103 Section A) during the Fall 2026 semester. This course will study texts resulting from cultural contacts during different historical periods, involving a cross-cultural exploration of various genres. The course will be delivered in English and is expected to have an enrolment of 45 students. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31.

Requirements

  • Doctorat dans un domaine des langues et littératures du monde, ou équivalent.
  • University experience required.
  • Expertise in the following areas: world literatures, literary theories, cultural studies, World cinemas, and other cultural expressions from different regions of the world; linguistic diversity and policies, minority languages, languages in the media and popular culture, and intercultural translation.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
  • Must be able to provide instruction in English.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

  • Teach World and Transcultural Literatures (LCM3103 Section A).
  • Deliver the course in English.
  • Conduct cross-cultural exploration of fiction, poetry, drama, autobiography, and other genres.
  • Engage with topics including world literatures, literary theories, cultural studies, World cinemas, and other cultural expressions from different regions of the world; linguistic diversity and policies, minority languages, languages in the media and popular culture, and intercultural translation.
  • Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
