About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach the course "AMERICAN SYSTEM HUMAN RIGHTS" (Course Code: DCC3110, Section: A00) during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course provides an introduction to the Inter American system of human rights protection, covering subject areas such as women's rights, the rights of indigenous peoples, the rights to democracy, and social rights. It includes a presentation of Organisation of American States (OAS) institutions involved with human rights, with a special emphasis on themes like access to justice and the empowerment of the poor. The role also involves explaining the specific methodological research tools required to use this regional system. The course is asynchronous/virtual and will be taught in English.

Requirements

  • Ability to teach the Inter American system of human rights protection by subject areas including women's rights, the rights of indigenous peoples, the rights to democracy and social rights.
  • Ability to present Organisation of American States (OAS) institutions involved with human rights, with special emphasis on themes such as access to justice - empowerment of the poor.
  • Ability to explain the specific methodological research tools required to use this regional system.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training under provincial law.
