About The Position

The Department of Philosophy at the Faculty of Arts is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach PHI1101-D00, Reasoning and Critical Thinking, during the Fall 2026 semester. This course focuses on developing fundamental skills in reasoning and critical thinking through the study of argument types, logical structures, criteria for evaluating arguments, and forms of fallacious reasoning. The course is taught in English and will be delivered in person. The expected enrollment is 200 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The instructor will be responsible for developing a syllabus subject to the approval of the Director of Undergraduate Studies. The mandatory textbook for the course is "Principles of Reasoning: And Introduction to Critical Thinking" by Paul Rusnock. The class schedule is Wednesday from 16:00 to 17:20 and Friday from 14:30 to 15:50.

Requirements

  • Ph.D in Philosophy.
  • Experience in teaching at university level in Philosophy.
  • Competence in English (language of instruction).

Responsibilities
